I got a plug n play kit for X-mas. The antenna is magnetic mount. It is recommended that it be mounted on the roof of the truck. How did you guys run the wiring from outside to inside?

I hid mine under the cowl and came in through the firewall grommet. From the roof you pull the iterior out and run it through the third brake light down the B pillar and up to the front. Here's mine, I lose signal on occassion but I don't want it up on the roof.

the cowl is the way to go
there is a spot on the pass side near the wiper that is perfect for it -
search here on stealth radio install for more details

Yep. I have had it under the cowl for since I got this truck (September of 04) and have had no problems.

Dipsh!ts put mine on the roof, even after I told them to put it under the cowl. They wouldn't move it back, saying that it would get bad reception under the cowl. I got tired of arguing with them about it, and just left. They probabbly would have messed something up anyway if I had made them redo it.

Under the cowl is the way to go. I figure theives see the antenna and know you have bling inside.

My GPS is mounted under the cowl and works fine.

My installer mounted mine on the roof. I never gave it any thought about running it under the cowl.

Just leave that truck in the driveway for a couple of days, and do'nt worry about the hood and tonneau cover, they'll both find a very good home. :d
