I am back home... a video will follow... pics say nothing here..

i feel every bone and muscle of my body.....

My first real race on a road track ever.

This will be a lil longer.... but i have to tell....

Big drifts, going around the corner and flyoing on 2 wheels.... I had all to get some good times...

I went to the racetrack yesterday morning with my Lightning. We parked right behind the pits of the racecars.

After 3 hours thoretical lessons we started trying out the Beetle in the parking lot beside the track, some cornering and so on.

Because it was a Team-Race we had to go with our own cars on the track for training before the Qualifying.

So i jumped into my Lightning and drove into the pitlane.

We waited 20 minutes there and started the training..... I was so happy to go on the track with my truck !!!

I started slowly and tried to give my tires some heat all around.....After the half way of the track ....it happend.....

RAIN !! RAIN !!!
NO....

Lightning - racetrack - rain - no fun.... hard work... HAHA I tried my best for 5 laps (we only got 5laps) and was in fighting to hold a BMW M coupe away from my back - the good things was that he had identical problems.

The Qualifying later this evening was in the rain also. I´ve got 4 teammates.
They all had been in this races before.
In the rain it was not really easy to follow the other drivers of the Mastership teams.

At least we got place 12 of 22 cars. But the starting position result we got by a lottery style 1-11 and 12-22.
We lost in the lottery and got starting place 20

Todays race:

6 hours -
One of my teammates did the start - it was a flying start.
He did a perfect job ! In the first 2 laps he got our racebeetle from 20 to position 7 !!

Lap 3:
Red Flag because of oil on the track.

New start.

He did it again got some cars and had a collision

The Frontspoiler was away.....

He came into the pit. Our mechanic had no spoiler. He went out again and destroyed our car by hitting the wall in the pitlane exit with the rear.
He was able to drive it back on 3 wheels with missing a big part of the body above.

The mechanics fixed it.
34 minutes later we went into the race again.....

I had my first run after 3 hours and the 2nd in the last 30 minutes of the race.
I am very happy with the lap-times i did. The magical border was 2:00 minutes at this race. I went constantly 1:58 minutes in my second run without a frontspoiler.

The best drivers of the mastership had times of around 1:55 in the race.

At least we got a trophae for the 3rd rookie place.

Without the damage in the beginning...... our team was constantly good and we should have been able to end the race at position 9 or 10 of all started cars...

It was fun.... unbelivable fun.
