Why? Have you reached peak potential out of the KB 2.6?

lol...are you ever gonna get the truck running or are you going to swap out blowers and parts until it's time to sell it?

I wanted he 3.4 Whipple long before the 2.6 K.B. but wasn't available at the time, so I went with the 2.6 K.B. I guess I should have just waited but was expecting the 2 more months like they did with the 2.3 Whipple

Keep swapping parts lol, but the truck will never be sold

He hasn't reached the potential of a stock block and a KB 2.3.

You'll need a GT block to hold anymore power you nut:icon_eek:. I am working with LFP to make a kit to get the 3.4 on a 99-00 truck since Whipple has omitted them. I will get more details as this progresses.
You getting the Rowe Vortech kit? You get the trans fixed?
You and Bic need to pay my way through SCT school so I can better tune your radical beasts. It is 1500 for the week plus airfare etc..

You get enough free/discounted truck and lawn work and yes your tuning would continue to be free minus meals Crown etc..:D
Here is SCT's price schedule. I like the ways Jim tunes but he is hard to get a hold of and consult with and his tuning is 90% the opposite of what SCT does. But it works well for Jim. I would love to tune his way but it is too hard or impossible to get trained with him..

This is one hell of a monster blower.

http://www.lightningforceperformance.com/images/M-6066-LR.jpg

The new Whipple will be shipping with a 3.5'' Blower Pulley making 23psi on a stock Lightning. To calm this bad boy down, Whipple is designing a 4.00'' Blower Pulley that will drop boost to 19psi. Use the new 4.00'' Whipple Pulley in conjunction with LFP's 6.5'' Interchangeable Lower Pulley and you can be down to 17.5 - 18psi for the street.

This blower makes absolutely no sense on a stock truck.
A stock truck can't even use all the potential of a KB 2.3.
But of course, your data may vary.

Charlie

I got an e-mail from Dustin and yes if you run a 3.5 upper with stock lower pulley it would equal 23 psi, it will be lower with ported heads, headers, etc etc, they are shipping the kits with a 3.5 upper but you can buy a 6.5" lower pulley to lower the boost

Terry shoot me a price as well on how much they cost, I'm a month out from getting one with the truck in pieces and heading to the painters and all the etc projects

Dyno graph...

The dyno datalogs...

http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z215/Stan_DMP/34whippledatalog_220.jpg

This is on low timing, C16 race fuel, and ONLY BOOST. As you can see by the graph, this was a dyno dynamics dyno, these numbers are corrected for weather/DA at the JBA facility. Chad lookout :poke: ... Stan

Also, you can see by the dyno datalog that the pull stopped at 5785rpm. We simultaneously datalogged with the SCT software and it said 5613rpm was the peak. We don't have a doubt in our mind we can spin this past 6000rpm. Now notice on the graph and datalogs, the hp never dropped, it was still pulling even at the top of the pull. There is much more left in this truck...

We laughed and thought on the way home, what if this thing had 4v heads...

PS. For those thinking we sprayed :bash: , look at the hp vs. tq numbers and especially with 2v heads. If there was N2o involved, the torque would be much higher. Also we discourage even our own customers from nitrous, we like to make power with engine and boost only... Stan

Yeah but will it make any diffrence that dante's motor is a 10:01 compression?

Do you mean difference in making good power like that or making the power and staying together?

If it is a 10:1 motor it's definitely easier to make the power, but it's also more likely to pop with the high boost. I think Jim makes his in the 9.5:1 region these days.

From another forum

Sorry Frank5L *****9.54 @ 142 *****
Someone had to do it. New Boost Only World Record !!!!!

Only two passes so far. First one out on the track around 11-12:00, blew the slicks off and half ways down the track it got sideways, Dante recovered, stabbed the throttle and ran a 11.29 @ 133 trap.

Second run out

60' - 1.475 with cool slicks waiting for the tech to mop the track
1/8 - 6.144 @ 115.69
1/4 - 9.543 @ 142.29

On the 9 second run we ran out of gear, we are making some changes going to let it cool and go for it again...

Wish us luck...

PS. Got pix and videos of all of it to come later on... Stan
