SO I put my L on the dyno for the first time since havin put on a few mods. 4lb lower, Big Mouth TB, CAI, upgraded MAF, Magnaflow cats and catbat exhaust and tuned by Terry. In the 1/8 I ran 8.3...Didnt do the quater. We measured rwph and this is where I think the dyno may need to be recalb....because it said max power was 467 to the wheel. And I find that kinda hard to believe. So what do yous guys think???:icon_question: Also after the runs my exhaust manifolds where bright red:icon_exclaim: The instructor said its cause my tune is making me run lean. Durning the run my A/F was bout 14.6 or so. Any feed back would be awesome:tu:

Well you a/f should be around 11.5, were did you have the dyno done? Yea it is lean.

You may have at that lean! I would change your fuel filter and do a fuel pressure check. 11-12 is where you should be WOT. When wide band sensors go bad they read lean. I have never seen L manifolds glow you have fuel issues for sure if they did.

if its that lean consider yourself lucky to still be driving it:tu:

at the very least im suprised you still have the ground straps on all your spark plugs:icon_mrgreen:

I changed my fuel filter bout this time last year...i had it dyno at school. they have dyno there..it a mustang dyno..they put a bullit and an mach 1 on it that today to. bullit 236 and he mach1 284. so after checking the fuel filter what else can i do to get wot into the 11 or 12's..terry would i need to come out and see you ?

Read my post asshat, check your fuel pressure. I have tuned a hundred stock trucks with pulleys even on a stock tune they won't run over 12.5 a/f. You have a fuel or maf issue it is not the tune.

You are not making 467HP with a 4lb lower.
ColorApproximate Temperature°F
Faint Red 930
Blood Red 1075
Dark Cherry 1175
Medium Cherry 1275
Cherry 1375
Bright Cherry 1450

My EGT runs around 1350 F on hard runs, so I wouldn't worry about the color, just the A/F, but I seriously doubt that was correct either.

Get a wide band O2 and see what that reads, a lot cheaper than a new motor.

An 8.3 in the 1/8th is going to = ~12.8-12.9 in the 1/4, so the truck is making more like 380rwhp, not 467.

Nevertheless, as others have said... assuming the wide-band at the dyno was correct (and it may not be), you need to do as Terry said... tonight.

Best of luck.

Yeah I agree my L is not making that!!! Because last year the dyno got stuck by lightning. And they just got it back up and running. ATI is where i go! Thanks for the info.:tu:

Why would you need an upgraded MAF for those mods? I don't understand that.

get one of those tornado things it will make the truck faster for sure

Just FYI, I dynoed my 00 with a 90MAF, KB blower up to 15 PSI and the stock computer handled it just fine.
