I would consider the Eagles Canyon event. Much more interesting track for HP cars. MSR is for go carts. Closer for the North Dallas, Denton crew as well.
What fluid you considering Doug. ATE Amber, or Motul RFB600?

I had heard the same from my buddy. Eagles canyon is a fun track.
If the car will last thru both I was considering doing both

But I need to get approved for the first one first.

Havent given the fluid issue much thought - Likely will pay someone to change it for me - since for now I still have a job

I am out of town for the second event and weather starts to become an issue plus the Porch is kind of like a go kart

We are going to make a weekend of it and drive down both cars I want to watch the fassst porch's do their thing

Hey Doug give me a ring and we can do a little prep work prior to the event at the world headquarters ( code for evening of drinking beer and telling lies)

the SO is excited about being a race car driver.... says she is buying a Pink helmet

Sounds good

I need to get the vette to the dealer for a small thing.

Need to at least figure out the inservice date so I know when the warranty is up

After I get the dealer stuff done Ill give you a call - maybe next weekend

All assuming I get approved - which hasnt happened yet

TWS is a ride! We ran GT1 there in the 80's and 90's. They should let you run a quarter or half the oval there.

Lowered the Porch today on H&R springs. Got to run Steve on the way home to about the posted speed limit.

The porch does well against the whipple L on 70 pull I am sure that my arse would have been handed to me on the bottom end

A little track time should be fun in October

Well if you guys are going to start running with PCA, this might give me the incentive I need to get the 911 back on track.

2 PCA Maverick region championships.;)

I knew we could resurrect a legend....

Don't know what ambitions I have but Steph really is pumped about taking the car around and learning a little more about driving hard.

Any suggestions that newbs should know prior to putting the car on the track

Stay very relaxed, never panic and don't go into the turns hard.
Brake in a straight line, never brake while turning, brake before the turn in a straight line, and then turn, accelerate through and out of the turn.

Basic rules for handling turns. In slow, out fast. In fast, off fast.. Off the track that is...

MSR has a few off camber decreasing radius turns. Those are the hardest turns to make well.

For brake fluid you usually have to mail order the ATE. I prefer the Amber because the blue looks filthy instantly. A set of earls speed bleeders may be handy for one man bleeding. I have trouble trusting them though. ATE was HALF the price of Motul RBF600. Most motorcycle shops have Motul in stock. That old cycle shop at 35 and Valwood may stock it. If I remember Motul was 593dry, 421 wet / ATE was about536 dry and 390 wet.
ATE was $13 a liter.
Motul was $16 a PINT I bought it by the case from Bobby Archer.

Both fluids will take more heat than most street pads will. It may be a good time to add some Goodrich SS lines...
Porterfield R4S pads are good track day pads they do make dust.

looking at the ATE cans on the web that looks like what the Fanatic BMW mechanic used to top off the car when I was showing it to him

We also played with some 2" plastic strips that stuck out from the front wheel well lip. They helped draw air through the wheel and brakes. The Z06 has a type of that design stock. We just screwed them on for race weekends.

Howdy all...

Flatsman mentioned a small Porch movement here...

In March I bought a 2000 911 Cab. It is red with a black soft top/red hard top. It is a lot fun...
