A couple of weeks ago a buddy of mine threw a rod through his 12valve. We have been working on getting it back up and running again. Tonight we had the engine rebuild done and we did the first start up. It was a beautiful sight. It was a cool project to be a part of and i cant wait to see the truck back together and up and running. Most of the diesel mechanics at Halliburton were ther including myself. Hope yall enjoy.....:tu:

You diesel-mechanics test start your engines on engine pullers?

What's it going in?

Its the first gen cummins engine that they put in the dodge pickups. The 12 valve is mechanical injection, and when they came out with the 24 valve they switched to a common rail system. His is a 1992. They are almost indestructable, the engine that blew had 348,000 miles on it.

It is a totally stock engine, he doesnt want to mod it at all cause he wants it for a daily driver. I have no idea what the stock power is but i am sure its under 200.

The 12v's were rated 160/400 (both IC and nonIC models).

Well just to give an update on the 12valve....we installed the engine and the truck would never go into gear. So we took the tranny down to a friend in waco named gobal. He rebuilt it and we just got it back in today. We spent all day today putting it all back together. And the finished product was running as good as the day it rolled off the factory floor. It feels awesome at the end of the day to have a job well done. I will post up some pictures tomorrow once it gets daylight outside.:tu:
