Wife was watching the news this morning and it said that the driver was killed when (s)he crashed into the back of an 18-wheeler. It showed a picture of a totaled 03-04 black L with a tonneau cover. She noticed it because it looked exactly like hers.

Anyone we know?

Prayers to Drivers family

DALLAS - A man died overnight when police say he smashed his pickup truck into the back of a semi-truck in northwest Dallas.
Accident investigators say an 18-wheeler was traveling west on Walnut Hill Ln. between Harry Hines Blvd and I-35 when he felt something hit the back of his trailer.
The truck driver stopped and got out, and to his horror saw a black pickup truck wedged under the trailer he was hauling.
The pickup's sole occupant, believed to be a Hispanic man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say speed was definitely a factor in his death.
His identity will not be disclosed until police talk to his relatives.
The semi-truck driver was not hurt.

That is a very weird location to be driving excessive speeds. :icon_sad:

I think I know the driver and he is a member, but don't want to speculate.

There are four members that I know that have black L's. Dennis has posted today. Memo has posted today and I spoke with Scotty's mom today and he is OK. Dana is smarter than that. Besides, he way over 30.

That's sad. I sold him some rear shackles a few years ago. Super nice guy. He had just bought his L when we met.

I pretty sure that is Joe or he goes by JROD on here. He had a set of wheels for sale awhile back. I met him once over at Jason's but that was many years ago (+5). Prayers go out for his family.

No, this Joe was a stocky fellow. An odd note, Joe blew the engine in his first Lightning going northbound up 35 at Walnut several years ago.

Yeah, that's who I'm thinking it is. When I met him he said this black one was his 2nd L.

Ok... so Terry... maybe it is NOT the guy we are thinking of. The guy I'm thinking of is not JROD... but the myspace info makes it appear that the gentlemen who passed was JROD

Yeah, that's who I'm thinking it is. When I met him he said this black one was his 2nd L. I have met him twice. First time I gave 2 used DR's, and sold my old catback to him 2 weeks ago. He said it was going on his black L. I hate to say it but I think this is him from the looks of the tips on the truck. I pray that I'm wrong.

Dennis is right, I live just off of Walnut Hill and Marsh.. the area between HH and I 35 isnt suited to high speed at all..

I am over 30 yrs old and not always that bright when it comes to displays of acceleration..

Terry, its not the guy that owns an L and works at the Marriott Res Inn I was staying at is it?

Joseph Rodriguez was his name. The Patriot Guard Riders may provide escort for his funeral. I have ridden with them in the past but, unfortunately, will not be able to participate in this one.
