Welcome! Most of the folks on here are in the DFW area... not sure if there are any as far south as you, but whatever, Ennis isn't far.

How fast is your truck? I assume if its modded, you've run it down at the Motorplex. :nana2

The only mods that make real HP are nitrous and aftermarket blowers/turbos. Kenne Bell and Whipple are the most popular superchargers for adding power.

Thats him. The truck is mostly stock, 2lbs pulley and exhaust. It was his birthday and christmas present for the next 20yrs.

well guys i ran a 12.4 spinning out off the tree a lil friday night at the ennis track.

That's a good running truck... probably right at 440rwhp as the others have said.

What was the trap speed?

nateusmcsvt
04-13-2010, 04:35 PM
110.7 it could go faster but the track prep was horrid and hard to keep from spinning.

WA 2 FST

Yeah, some people don't realize that a little spin is fine regarding trap speed, but if you're spinning 100-200' out of the hole, then your ET _and_ trap speed suffer.

Nearly 111mph isn't bad, though. I think with your build motor, ported heads, etc, when the time/finances allow an aftermarket KB or Whipple blower will do wonders over the ported stocker.

Just for reference, when mine ran 109mph, it made 390rwhp/460rwtq. I didn't have the wheelspin issue, though. It was a stock weight truck in that configuration.

okay i just buight a FTVB and a 2400 stall. how much would you say that will drop my et?

okay i just buight a FTVB and a 2400 stall. how much would you say that will drop my et? It will increase your ET, you are already spinning.

It will increase your ET, you are already spinning. Do you still have a stock tranny? BTW, were you running slicks on that run? If so, what size?

nateusmcsvt

i do now but im going to build it when i install the ftvb and the stall. i just need to get a better sprag and high performance clutch kit i guess, im still kinda learning on what is needed to rebuild a trans.
