There is a new Crown in town. I had to break out the whole family for a true comparison.

Their claim is a bolder yet smooth Crown at a higher proof of 90 vs the standard 80.

I must say I was skeptical after the CR16 debacle years back. That almost deterred me from buying any new Crown products.

After a few glasses of Black on the Rocks I must say it is worthy of the Crown brand. Terry likes it...

XR is and will always be #1
Reserve is my long time drinking favorite.
This Black was 28 bucks or so at the Goody Goody, maybe an introductory price. Anyway, I like them shits!

Terry if it meets your standards, then I think I will pick up a bottle next pay check.

I must confess that I am no longer worthy of being a Crown purist. I have switched to Canadian Hunter. If you drink your Crown neat or on the rocks you might be able to tell the difference, but if you mix with Coke or Sierra Mist you can't taste any difference. And the Canadian Hunter is about $16 for a 1.75 L. bottle.

Well after a glass of the new stuff, I give it my seal of approval. It's just a tad better than Reserve I think. Also for the Price, that can't be beat.
