Last 2 tanks of fuel I have lost anywhere from 50 to 75 miles a tank. Have new plugs, fuel filter and have done nothing to the engine. Have not been driving crazy fast or doing anything out of the norm. Found no fuel leaks or any air restrictions. I am using the highest octane I can get using Valero and Shell but wonder if its the summer fuel or something I am missing. Maybe its Terry's tune :icon_mrgreen: but he did that months ago. Any takers on this one?

I am thinking 10% ethanol vs no ethanol in the gas.

Also, A/C is running harder than ever right now.

Might be a dumb question but have you checked your tire pressure?

Other than that I know when its hot my truck feels a little sluggish due to heat soak, so I probably tend to hit the gas a little harder to compensate.

Last but not least, did you forget to remove your boat and trailer the last time you went fishing?:d

What is tanking? I use to get 250 in the winter and 180-210 in the summer. E fan helps some, when the fan clutch starts dragging the engine down. 02 sensors or dirty MAF can drop fuel economy. but both usually set codes.

It is, after all, a Lightning. I quit checking my mileage a long time ago. :icon_mrgreen:

I realy don't pay much attention to the mileage but when I can see the gauge moving than it concerned me a little but did not have the truck last summer so we will see what happens later on this fall. I can get 350+ miles out on road trips to Houston and back running 80-90 and 14-15 around town. Mike, I wish my boat was running but never would attempt to pull that pig behind this truck.

350 miles/tank sounds about right. I have gotten 400+ with stock motor, but expect about 300/tank with my current setup.

I get about 13.5 on my daily commute. Not to many long road trips but I would guess 15-16 on the highway.

Stay away from "Quick-stop" gas.I wa sbuying it cause it was the cheepest around.I put a full tank of Valaro and got 50 more h.P. and better MPG. LOLQuick stop is the worst gas!!!:tu:Gas brand does make a diff!!!
