The movie was ok but thought the first one was way better. Looked like they left it open for a second movie.

I seen it. I thought it was good. Had very good special effects. And believe it or not is had a underlying good moral ground, and a decent plot to boot.

Why pay to go see it in the theaters, I have watched a lot of the good movies online before they even leave the theaters. Its FREE and the quality on most of them is pretty good. Not Blue ray or DVD quality, but it's clear and it don't bother me.

Depending on how you are "watching them" you may end up getting a letter one day, asking for Tens of Thousands of dollars ...

But as ever with rapid internet, it is America which is leading the way in copyright prosecution. In some US states the online infringement of copyrighted music can be punished by up to three years' jail and £150,000 in fines. Repeat offenders can be imprisoned for up to six years. Individuals may be held civilly liable – regardless of whether the activity is for profit – for actual damages or lost profits, or for statutory damages up to £90,000 per infringed copyright. In the USA the industry is putting fake tracks on file-sharing to track down your IP.

You would be surprised, it still can show your ip address in them, just like if someone looked at porn..

EVERYTHING you see on your computer is downloaded to your computer - the browser caches everything - Even streamed movies are SENT to your PC in a stream - The only real difference in a stream is they are tougher to save for later use. It doesnt change the fact that you dont see it untill its transmitted to your pc

As In2deep said your IP address is recorded just the same ...

P2P software downloading is worse but not any less illegal

So at this point burn your hd..

Silver_2000

burning your hard drive MAY help - but if the subpoena shows your IP address dloaded the movie - not sure if they HAVE to find the movie in your possession to charge you -

but in fairness all this is dependent on someone looking for the specific files you looked at from the specific source you selected during the time frame in question. And then typically your ISP will get a subpoena for the owners names who had the IP addresses that are in the logs from the host.

Ive been called to help Attys on both sides of similar matters

Always download your pirated stuff on external drives LOL.Ive seen every new movie before they hit the theaters.I think the Law only goes after the ones who actually sell or give downloads.

I know that some people will justify what they are doing and no level of information or warning will help but for the rest the info here might help them understand the risks

If you read the previous quote you will see that the industry is seeding the sites with files to catch downloaders.

When using p2p software (torrent clients) the instant you start downloading you are also uploading the pieces you have downloaded.

More than half the files are not really what you are looking for and lots of the rest are infected with viruses or malware.

Beyond the risk - I dont understand the appeal behind spending hours downloading crappy looking copies of movies. The few Ive seen over the years have looked like they were taped using a super 8 camera from the 60s from the worst seat in the house - the sound sucked.

I just wait for them to come on DVD or Cable

Beau's been caught. :throw: I wonder what his porn IP registry looks like. :rll:

I choose to not take the risk and just stimulate the economy by blowing absurd amounts of money on theater movies and popcorn and candy. And usually end up buying the BluRay if I liked it enough in the Theater or didn't get a chance to see it there.

I prefer the movie grill thing, reserved seats, and you get a credit with the SO for dinner and a movie.
I have always liked this format since the original days of the Granada.:D

Love the Movie Grill as well. I subscribe to their emails and jump on some of the free viewings every now and then if the movie is worth getting there early and standing in line for. ;)
