Well,

After being ridiculously anal about tire pressures forever I finally broke down and bought a proper gauge. Supposed to be more accurate and longer lasting than Intercomp's. Call it an early Xmas gift to myself. :D

What took you so long?
I was that anal in my 20s, but for KART racing and autoxing.

Dunno. I've used AccuTire digital gauges for years, and AccuGauge analogs for low pressure stuff, but just never broke down and bought a "real" gauge. However, I just checked my $25 AccuTire against the Longacre and it's spot on, although it doesn't read to .1 lbs.

Last weekend, before heading to the deer lease, I calculated the pressure drop based on the forecast cold front, adjusted for the extra weight of the 65 gallon water tank I was hauling, and set tire pressures accordingly. Are others this weird, or just me?

I have a decent gauge that I rarely use.

Both cars have sensors - The vette has individual readouts per tire on the dash - If they run down to 30 cold I add air but that's about it ...

The live readouts would be crack for you 2.

Hmm as I go faster the air pressure increases... so if I went 120 for 2 min how high could I get the pressure ?
Hmm the left front is 1 lb lower than the right front - If I take this sweeping right at 110 will that heat the tire enough to equalize ? Lets try :evil

I did spend some time thinking about how the trip to my customer in Grand prairie costs about $3.00 more in the Vette than the Lexus ( one more gallon of fuel ), also wondered if I would ever leave the Vette in 6th long enough to match the mileage the Lexus gets.. then realized I would rather leave it in the Garage .. :evil

Oh yes. :bows When I had the C5 I left the HUD on the TPMS display and played the same games you do, watching the pressures at each corner climb or drop based on driving conditions. My current TPMS idiot light is virtually useless compared to the live readout in the C5.

I dislike the TPMS in my 2500 work truck. Being a 3/4 ton with E tires the sensors go off below 70psi. When the truck is empty I prefer 65psi or less so I don't jar a tooth loose over bumps...

The GM says which tire is low, both Fords just say low tire...

I understand your madness all to well. I bought the single hose PSICLOPS last year.
