We need a printer for x-mas, one that will support quality pics.

What are our best choices from $200 to $300.

Thanks,
Mark

Hp photosmart line is good - the picture quality is based on the paper quality ....

DOnt forget that the vendors make 90% of the cash from ink ... ink is one of the most expensive things you will ever buy if you figure the cost per pound....

Mark,

What operating system are you using at home. I have a very good Epson printer that you can permanently borrow if you have Windows 95 or 98.

If you stick with the HP line you won't go wrong. I've tried some of the others and have been dissappointed. Just my .02.

We have one of the high-end (as of a year ago) HP printers that does photo quality printing, fax, scan, copy, etc, etc.

I printed out a .jpg of me and the L on 8x10 and I maxed out the resolution and it's as clear as the image on my monitor/desktop.

Just watch the ink cartridge prices ($30 for b/w and $30 for color) from Sam's!
