Dog Houses

From what I have learned about dog houses is:
1) Build them half the size you think they should be including the door.
2)Make sure no nails are poking inside the house.
3) Don't forget to put the floor in it.
4) You can install a lamp fixture for heat in the winter.
5) Buy a Igloo instead they are great for dogs year round.

For ~$40, you can't go wrong with a "Dog-gloo" from Wal-Mart.

Junior, my Red-Heeler/Dingo/Aust. Shepherd cow-dog back home has lived in one for years with nothing more than leaves thrown in there for warmth in the dead of winter.

I'll say one thing for these cow-dogs, they can get snake-bitten and fall out of trucks at road-speed and STILL bounce back on their feet!

You hit the nail on the head.. except you might want to put a "cool pad" in there for the summertime.. get 'em at Petsmart.. your dog will love you for it, mine loves his.

I looked for a cool pad last year and they said I had to go to a larger PetSmart. Keep in mind this was a brand new store they just built!

Or you can build a dog mansion. That is the puppy we had to put down when he was 15 weeks old in front of the dog house I built for him. 6' at the peak, roughly 4'x6', enough room for me when I get in trouble with the wife!:bows
