:D Ok, I've had my new truck for all of ~30 hours now. I've been in and out of it probably a total of 6 times. No less than twice when getting out I have nearly fallen out of the truck. This thing sits VERY high from the factory.

Granted, I lowered my '99 after about 9 months of ownership, and it was lowered ~1.5-2" all the way around. But still... I never had this problem when the '99 was at stock height.

I realize the '03-04 sits a bit higher in the back, and I found myself laughing at myself after slipping out of the truck.

Part of the problem is that I'm 5' 6 1/2" (at least that's what my old college baseball media guide says :rll: ).

Gotta get this thing lowered quick before I hurt myself!! Either that or some running boards...yeah, that'd look cool, wouldn't it. :hammer:

Make sure you get the diamond plate ones, they would look pretty good. :rll:

Seriously though, how much higher is an 04 than a 99?

Well, I've been told the front is the same, but the rear springs for the '03-04 trucks are set up so that the rear sits a bit higher than the '99-02 trucks. It's enough higher that it is noticeable to me. Maybe 1.5-2" higher in the back?

I just took my kids to school and my 6yr old daughter had trouble getting in.

Again, I'm sure most of it is due to the fact that my '99 was 2" lower than stock, so it was real easy for us short folks. ;)

There really isn't too much difference, but it does sit about an inch and half higher.

So in my case it is ~3.5" difference from one truck to the other. No wonder its taking me a little getting used to.

That's a great comparison pic, Cathy. Thanks for posting that.

I know that if I look at my truck from a slight distance, I can see light between the tires and the bed and straight through to the other side!

Yep, due to the higher payload capacities.

Anyone have a pic of a lowerd L?? I like the way my L rides now so I dont want to screw it up or make it look Guetto...

THe lightning doesnt feel as firm in corners as my 91 Chevy that is dropped 2/4 with new bushings... I would like My L to have the same firmness..

Wes,

How long before you go to the Hotchkiss springs? If it's going to be awhile, and the ride height is bugging you, I'd trade you my '00 rear springs. I'm one of the weird folks who'd actually use the extra weight carrying capacity.

Brian,

Thanks for the offer, but Terry is ordering the Hotchkis stuff for me now.
