Just a reminder that this Friday night marks the start of the Winter Points season. We will be running the True-Street Instant Green races on Friday nights and the Street Legal Shootouts for cars and motorcycles on Saturdays. $10 to race in any class.
Payouts: If we have less than 20 entries we give trophies to 1st and 2nd place. 20-40 entries it's $100+trophy to win and $50+trophy for runner up. 40+ entries $200+trophy to win and $100+trophy for runner up. This payout is for each of the classes listed above.
Also, the points payout is extremely good and it costs nothing to enter. You will receive a permanent track number that you will use each time you race. Track champion in all classes (instant green, street & motorcycle), gets $800 cash, a huge trophy, a jacket and gold card (gives you free gate admission to all events for 1 year). Runner up gets $200 cash, trophy and a jacket. It's by far one of the best racing programs you will find anywhere, especially over the winter.
We tried a new prep method for the track this past weekend, and on Saturday night we had 4 rear ends and a transmission break right on the starting line. One rearend actually had the entire center section explode and roll out from underneath the car with the driveshaft (which also sheared in half) still attached.
The point is, when you come down here, make sure you are running a drive shaft loop if you are running slicks or any tire that offers decent traction. We are going to keep using this prep method, and with the cool weather expected this weekend the cars should be flying.
