No b/c I'll be running Nitto DRs and they are very low profile ... 305/35-18. I'm not going to bust anything 2+hours from home with some crazy launch, and it wouldn't matter anyway. Without a soft sidewall slick or ET Street, it won't ET very well. I'll be happy with low-11s. I do expect it to run 135+mph which (with slicks) is good for 9.9x per the NHRA rule book. :) That's all I care about. It ran 11.60 @ 129 with 535rwhp. I'm packing 70+rwhp more now...depending on the air of course.

It accelerates fine from a stop with the DRs, but not nearly to its full potential. Guys with slicks are running high-9s and getting consistent 1.45-1.55 60's. With the DRs in the cooler air, I don't even go full throttle til I'm at 60mph or higher.

I raced a 750 bike the other day and got sideways in 2nd, let up, upshifted to 3rd, hit it again and at 85mph I was doing my best impression of an import "drift". The bike let off (probably b/c he was as nervous as I was). Then we did an 80-??? ;) punch and I walked him. From a standstill, I'd have been toast of course.

well, hopefully it won't wheelhop like a .... and it stays in one piece. I don't practice my standing start launches much on the street. I typically just do roll-ons at 40+mph.

me too, thats why i have a personal best of 1.87 60' :rll:

I am deffinatly in!!! I can't wait to get a 1/4 mile time on my truck! Just let me know what time y'all are going to get there so I can leave in time to meet y'all there. It's a little farther for me that most!

Scott are you going to come to Kennedale on Thursday?

im gonna try.... i saw weather should be nice and cool... so maybe i can hit 7s.... JDM is tweaking my tunes again and sending to me soon, this will be like the 4th time now for free.... :bows to JDM

but anyway, it will be adding 3' of timing so hopefully that and some better track prep and cool weather (and better 60s) and I can be in 11s...

i had that 12.5 run with a 1.87 60' (horrible) and that was on my street tune with only 14' timing... my new race will have 20".... 6' degress more has to be worth something...

I can't go the 5th. Possibly the 12th or 19th. But if you guys have a few guys going, don't worry about me.

Here's a vid of a guy with the same twin-turbo setup as I have. He was at Hallsville in November. 2500rpm launch, granny-shifted... 10.75 @ 136+. He ran 10.62 @ 138 later. That is _flying_ for a car that is 100% street legal and gets 28mpg on the highway trip out there and back.

What did you do to get that truck running that fast? The last time I looked you were like a 8.2-something 1/8th. Did the stall make that much differance?

Dayummm...I need to get my car tuned and injectors/fuel pump installed. I doubt I can get it done by Feb 5th. I could probably go the following week. Let me know if you guys are going for sure.....I'll do my best to get it done.

Scott,

I appreciate you wanting to wait on a few of us who may not be available on the 5th. However, if its a good day, GO! We get so few "good air" days here in N. Texas, and during the months we can get them... we often have rain.

I am going to go either the 12th or 19th. If you want to go two weeks in a row...

I'm ready to go!!! I'm leaning towards the 12th. Bobby said he is going to let me borrow his front runners and I may also have another suprise by then so I'm hoping to improve on my numbers.

Also maybe we can get Unkle Fokker to go out and try to hit some 10's.

 I have been ever-so-lovingly informed that I am "booked" for the 12th.

So I guess my schedule keeps backing up. I'll try for the 19th or 26th. You guys go and have fun.

I'll post up a date for when I go when I _know_ I can go. :rll: If anyone will want to caravan with me, that'd be great.

I know FFW in Florida is in Feb...not sure on the conflict for Uncle Rocks.

BTW-Speaking of Feb 5th, I know some of you girls like UFC. I'll be having a small gathering at the hosue to watch boxing/UFC and have some food/drink with friends. All you fellas are invited with SO's, friends etc. Just let me know.

I'll post up a new thread to see if there is any interest......I'll be having it regardless tho http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/beerchug.gif

Hope maybe a few of you will want to go 2 weeks in a row. Pending good weather, and a track that's open (will check their schedule and call them next week) I am going to go to H-ville on Feb. 5.

How about a future meet at pinevalleyraceway in Lufkin?

I've been there and I think its a great track. It was well prepped and they had nice facilities. Very few street legal cars when I went. I'm game.

Where's that at?

This just illustrates the fact that we need a 1/4 raceway a lot closer to the metroplex. It's a shame that we have to drive at least 2 hours to get to a track. I sure wish that plan for Grand Prarie had went through, I also think TMS should build one.
