Yeah, this is an odd one, but wtf... Since I'm now a FEMA inspector, chances of finding inexpensive lodging in disaster areas is fairly slim, so I'm toying with the idea of a small travel trailer. It doesn't need to be big, but should have a toilet and shower, a bed, and heat/AC. It should be light enough to tow with the Mariner (3500lbs rated).

These are the ones on eBay I'm looking at:

THis one is older, cheap, and light: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4578613225&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT

THis one is not cheap, but laid out interestingly, and is VERY light: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4578804506&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT

THis one is inexpensive, a bit worn, but not too bad: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4578822247&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT

This is the one that got me thinking, tho I don't think it fits the toilet/shower bill: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4579045620&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT

This one is the nicest of the bunch, I think: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4579071157&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT

This one caught my eye as well, and fits the whole package well: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4579411190&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT

This one's good as well: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4579396353&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT

I'm not looking to spend alot of money, as long as it's clean, dry, has a toilet/shower, heat/AC (can put a window unit in if necessary), and doesn't weigh more than the rated tow of the Mariner.

I really don't konw waht I'm doing, or what to look for or look out for. Any info will earn a beer at the next GTG I can attend.

ok, I would tell you to think about two things... 1) does it meet what you need it to do and 2) how long will you need it so do you need to think about resell?
If you need to think about reselling it, then I would suggest a newer one.. newer anything is usually easier to sell than something older, esp a trailer built in 1963.. its almost as old as I am and the technology behind it is too.

there, now you have an opinion..

Oh, you do have to like the one that is a BEAVER craft... :evil

Any of you fellas purchase one since 2005? I'm getting ready to purchase a 26' travel trailer myself. It's a Sunny brook Sunset creek 267 RL. It's a tad pricey, but I think I found a great deal on one. I plan to keep this unit for a while as the Mrs. and I plan to do quite a bit of RV'ing in the near future, not mention it will come in handy during hurricain season. We're really looking forward to it.

This is the unit I bought.

Yeah those 5th wheels are nice. I plan to use my Lightning therefore I prefer to run a light weight model. I eventually plan to purchase a Gen 1 for the long hauls.

Thanks for the link.

None of the links are working, so I can't see what you're considering, but I bought my first travel trailer in November, and here's what I learned. Now is a GREAT time to buy a lightly used model, as many folks are trying to unload their toys/extras to cut back on expenses. I ended up buying a very lightly used 2006 Keystone Springdale 187 for about half of what NADA said it was worth. It's not too big, but certainly works for two people and a dog for a weekend, and it can sleep 4 in a pinch. It's fairly light (4200 lbs loaded and full of water), and it seems to be reasonably well made. There were a few minor issues that needed to be fixed on purchase, but I'm told that on TT's some thing is always breaking, and buying new is no guarantee of getting a problem free example. Once I got mine squared away I've had no other issues (so far). Yeah, bigger would always be nicer, but this size really does work well for how I use it (at the deer lease semi-permanently, stay in it on weekends one or twice a month).

A few weeks back my wife and I went looking at trailers. It was one particular model that really caught our eye. (2009 Sunny Brook Model Sunset Creek 267 RL). This unit locally was priced at 21,998.00 minus TTL. It would have costed me well over 23K by the time the sale was final. I search the web to see if I was getting a decent deal. MSRP was 24-26K. I located this unit in Michigan for 16,857.00 Minus delivery, tow package and TTL. I'm getting it delivered next week for 20.4K That includes everything.

The Mrs. and I gave our anticipated used serious thought before purchasing therefore we didn't settle on a unit and purchased what we really wanted.

The link works fine for me. You can conduct a search on the model I noted for details. You should also be able to see it at the following link. Just click Sunny Brook models, then scroll down to Sunset Creek 267 RL.
