I guess you've got to be damn hungry to eat something 3/4 your size with tough skin, lots of teeth and claws. :eek:

I guess the snake didn't hold the gator in a squeeze long enough to kill it. Pretty impressive that there's something out there that can eat a 6ft gator whole.

I've seen some Anaconda vs Salt Water Croc stuff on National Geographic, now that's a tussle. The snakes get to 20+ feet and kill the crocs on a regular basis.

I'm glad to not have to go back to Miami, in some ways. On commutes, I'd hear of alligators swimming up the rivulets behind housing additions smack-dab in the middle of the suburbs and on golf-courses.

It's amazing that alligators/crocodiles evidently haven't evolved since the dinosaur-days, in some ways, but they've adapted to desert conditions: http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2002/06/0617_020618_croc.html

As a kid, Dad's told me he's seen large water-moccassins swallowing nice-size catfish.:eek2:
