Several guys do. Most run 150-180 and up to 200+ stalling and drag racing. They run cool on the highway when locked up and warm up in the city when they are slipping. Since the aux cooler is in the side tank of the radiator the fluid tends to be close to engine temp.

Ok, i must not have something wired right, allthough it is pretty simple, ignition wire to 12v terminal on ignition switch or other switched 12v source ( i've tried both) sender wire to sending unit( i've tried both long & short units) and ground. And my results are this:hammer:

The gauge may be damaged, some of them damage if they are ever energized without a sending unit attached. I would try a new gauge next.

I thought the same when I installed mine (last winter). Turns out it just ran cool that night and the tranny never warmed up, I didnt see it hit 180 till hard driving or stop and go traffic. They work good. Im glad to have it.

To what terminal did you hook the ignition wire to?. Mine is running a constant over 250*:cool:

Sounds like maybe the sensor wire is pinched to ground or some odd reason the positive is hook up to the wrong termial.

you can also get trans temp from ODBII

since its not going to vary much - you might be able to get away with just reading the temps from a scanner
