What does it take to do a head/cam swap? I'm sure its a lot of work but I have no idea how much. Anybody? Terry?

It's about three grand for a nice set of loaded CNC heads. I would pull the motor to do it perfect. You can do it in the truck or in your driveway but that is second rate IMO.

Noooooo......I was just wondering. I'm putting a new motor in a week or two and we are going to do a cab lift. I don't do much of anything in my driveway. I've got friends at the Ford dealership and a few friends with well equiped shops. I just wanted to know what it would take to do a headgasket if one blew....and I was curious about cams as well. Do cams do a lot for the L's. I really don't know too much about them yet.

It is a system thing. Cams don't make much without headers, more boost, larger blower etc. Just like CNC heads don't chime in until about 16-18psi boost.

.....I understand the whole parts matching convention. Thanks for the info!
