Here's the other poll. This one I want to find out about the place you want to meet at. Rather than stating specific places, I'm going to be generic in this poll. You be specific in your posts.

Well hell...I thought the, "other", option was pointless...I suppose you can guess what I think about the last option on this poll.

I'd like to have at least a couple in the West Arlington, HEB area. Maybe someplace near Six Flags.

I think the poll is a little biased:(

The way I see it is that spreading them out is a win/win for every body. The people who want a central location will still have a central location every so often, and the people who want the meeting closer to their area with have one every few months as well.

What your saying can make sense on the surface, but when put into practice can actually make all the meetings a regional event. The Arlington meets end up being all the Arlington guys. The Richardson meets end up being the North dallas/Richardson guys.

It is next to impossible for a guy that lives and works in Plano/Richardson area...to get off and get to Arlington in time to have dinner. Same goes for when we do the Richardson meets...guys from Arlington area can't get out here soon enough to have dinner after work.

The good side of a central local is it makes it possible for the max people to attend at the same time. Instead of having half the crowd driving an hour and a half...the whole crowd can drive 30-45 minutes.

The reason for making it a central local such as the Loop 12 area was to give everybody an equal shot at making the meeting.

There is really no perfect solution for everyone.

As I posted before, I can make it to the Richardson meets just as often as I can make it to the Irving meets. Either way I have to take some time off of work to make it there in time. I understand you do tend to get more regional folks with them spread out but it's not entirely that way and so what. I know I'm still going to try and come to north dallas meets, heck it's only an extra 20 mins or so past the central area. I'm also suggesting that we still have a few in a central area.

Also by seperating them it gives new people a better chance to come join the club. Somebody might be a little apprehensive about driving all the way to Irving if the don't know anything about our club or members, but they might decide to come to a meet that's close by for their first time.

It seems like there is only one main group of dedicated people that show up regularly to the Irving meets. (Which is a good thing, don't get me wrong). The thing is that those people will more than likely show up to most of the meetings no matter where they are, I know I will. But having them spread out gives other people that might not have the time the rest of us have the opportunity to show up more often because it's convenient for them at least part of the time.

These are all valid points...IMHO. It's a tough decision either way. I try to make the meets that I can, but miss most of the spring/summer get togethers because of the FFW schedule...so my vote should probably be counted as a half.

You make a good argument...especially the issue of the newbies feeling more comfortable in areas closer to there homes.

I would be more inclined to make the Arlington events if they where at one of the full nude bars:evil .

I don't like fighting traffic any more than the next TALON feller', but we're a Club and we certainly need to keep the overall focus/consensus in mind.

I don't see "The Lodge" on your option list, Tom. :D:bows
