Doug any chance for installing chat software? I always see a number of members logged in and would like to chat with a few without the pain and suffering involved in PM's. :)
I won't lose sleep if it can't happen, but it'd be cool. Late.

I installed a java chat 6 months ago
Look in the left frame on this page
http://www.svtlightnings.com/talon/index.html
There is also a PHP based chat I could install in about 10 minutes but the JAVA one is supposed to be better ... PLUS Im not sure it has EVER been used...

I just tried the Java chat. Seems to work, but, it says "unknown" next to the lines of text instead of my name. Doesn't matter what I type into the name line.
It also shows me 3 available channels but will not allow me to choose one other than the one I am on be default.

When I tried it I typed Silver in the name line then typed a line in the chat box and it showed up as Silver Below then I changed it to DOug ... Seemed to work OK.. The Only Channelk avail is the one that has my Servers IP asscociated
Well have to make it a point to try it real time some time to make sure it works ok - If it doesnt Ill put the other Chat up ... But I read that the JAVA chat ( this one ) was better.

If you enter the chat from the link on SVTlightnings it opens one channel based in its IP and if you eneter from Talon.svtlightnings.com it opens a different channel.
Use the join command to open new channels or /topic command to rename the channel from its number to something else.

Hey Doug,
Not sure who is hosting the site or whether your running it from the house, but I understand these folks are very good.
For anyone interested ..........

Can you make an icon on the main page? The one that lists all of the forums:tu: That would be cool!

Sounds like a good deal BUT I am not experienced enough to go in for a server of my own yet... Don't know enough Linux... Perhaps in time..
They need help with the spelling - layout of their website
