Just curious as to what my credit score is? I was thinking of yaking over payments on a car for a daily driver, and was curious as to what my score was. Also with all the credit card fraud and ID theft, thought it would be good to know.

I have, in the past gone to each one of the major credit reporting agencies on the internet and claimed I applied for credit. I then get a free report over the net. They never seem to check it, so just pick something out of your arse. Tell them Bank of America turned you down.

My Providian Card automatically gives me my Experian credit rating anytime I want it...updated monthly. I go their website and its part of my account/profile thing. It's pretty cool. I've been trying to pay off all of my bills for the last year. Everytime I do something big I see it a month later. Its pretty wild.

Actually by law the agencies allow one free report per year. Just call em up and ask for your free report.

I haven't checked in awhile on the free reports, but the last time I wanted a freebie, they would only give internet access if you had been turned down for credit. The one per year law is true, but they wanted to mail that one to me, so I would have had to wait. I like instant gratification....:d .

You can go to any one of the 3 majors (experian, equifax, and transunion) and request your yearly free credit report. I did mine a couple of months ago for transunion and you can look at it online and print it and they also send it to you in the mail a few days later. If you want your score they charge you something like $5.
Like Rocks said, You can also get a free one sent to you if you've been turned down. This is a kinda fuzzy issue in your favor. I don't think they actually know if you've been turned down and you can just call or go online and tell them you want your free report because you were turned down and have them send you one. I did this one time I wasn't actually denied but I did't get the best rate either. The way I see it is that I was denied the best available rate.
My bank just sent me an email yesterday and according to them under a Texas State law I'm entitled to two free credit reports each year from each of the big three (1 allowed per group every 6 months). SO 6 total. THe best way to plan that out is to stagger them every 2 months, and you always know where you stand.
