I prefer to tape and solder automotive connections when possible. This seals out moisture and prevents several poor connection issues. When I have to use a crimp terminal I like to solder it as well so it does not wiggle loose or corrode with exposure to the elements. Here are a few connections from Ron's recent work.

I solder, spray clean, dielectric grease, and heat shrink, like this would be a surprise to anyone.
