My furnace ignitor went out and it's freaking 1900 hours on a Friday night. Either of you guys know who would stock these that would be open before Monday??? :throw:

Hot surface ignitor? Very delicate one touch will burn them out. U-Fix-It is a chain appliance parts stores they carry them.

Yep, that's it. I'll look them up and give it a shot. I think I'm screwed as far as finding one tonight, however. Cold as a beotch in this house.

How do freaking Home Depot or Lowes not carry these?

I'm destined to hear my wife complain all night long and perhaps longer, if no one's open on the weekends.

Send me a picture of it. Is it 24 or 120V? Shouldn't you and your wife be cuddled up all night?:D

Don't know about the 24 or 120. It's a Norton 271M.

All the manuals warn you about manually ingniting it. Is that just a poo poo safety thing or what? Seems like I could just light the bitch off when it kicks on and be good to go. Once the heater kicks back off, it'll shut itself down on the next startup attempt when it doesn't sense a flame. But at least I could do that once or twice tonight to keep it from getting down too much. 60 degrees and falling in here right now.

Looked at a 24hr service call, but that'd be over a c note for a stinking 30 dollar part.

Go buy a $25 space heater at Walmart. It's going to get down in the twenties tonight.

I've got one on-hand already and it's cranked up along with a fire in the fireplace! :tu:

Crappy timing...if I'd have discovered it about 1-2 hours earlier, I could have gotten somewhere to buy one.

U fix its are universal so there is some modding to install. Usually splicing the connector over etc. I think I paid 40+ bucks for mine. My fricking ignitor for my shop heater went out last year.
