After pulling all summer and now this winter I see exactly what they mean about the intercooler swap. All summer I had to take timing out or lift off the pedal and slow down up hills and down on ramps. All winter I have been able to run stronger tunes and stay in the fuel while keeping acceptable EGT's. Rocks or anyone else plan on doing a lot of towing next summer should get in on this!

I am probably going to have to do it when I go to an enclosed car hauler. I like to drive straight through with stops for gas only. I may get overheat problems. I may have already had the problem and didn't know it. I never even thought to watch for this.

Yeah in a diesel you live and die by EGT temps. The BOX makes a huge difference in towing in mostly negative ways. Kind of like drag racing the L with your hood up:hammer: . I drive normal or hard until it gets up to 1200 or so and start backing down. Some guys push it to 1450 but I don't. The EGR coolers on our 6L's will heat flash and boil over the coolant tank.
