S.C. Belt Tension

I noticed when Terry put the pulley on my truck he popped off some clips on the belt tensioner to get some more tension.Anyway, sometimes when i step into it i get a funky smell.It smells like burnt belt rubber.I was wondering if any of you run any other kind of tensioner,i have seen some L's with them installed.Maybe
some other smell but i am pretty sure its a smokin belt.It only does it once in a while and @ W.O.T..How much are these and is it really needed?

when i put my new idler bracket on i could feel it boost up quicker...

Also look around your idler pulleys and under the snout of your supercharger.. There will be rubber residue, almost like a powder.
