Sometime over the christmas weekend I managed to loose my keys. House...truck...office...and about a dozen other keys that I had on the same ring. I am thinking that one of the folks that came over may have walked off with them thinking it was they're keys. I have made calls and of coarse nobody did it.

Anyway...to my problem. Getting all the GD locks re-keyed...just to be safe. The locksmith is on the way for the usual keys, but who do I call to re-key my F250? Is the dealer the only one who does this? The locksmiths keep saying they can't do it. What kind of money is it going to cost to re-key my F250? Any recs on where to take it. North Central Ford is on my sh!t list.

Depending on the year I might be able to help with the PATS changes

the new trucks use CAN - controller area network which requires a 1500-2000 upgrade for the NGS scanner I have to work
I dont have the part to do the new trucks

Mine is a 2005. Maybe that is why they all say they can't help me with it.

Thanks for the info Doug.

Damn that really bites! I would seperate those keys to smaller rings maybe? I hate having too many keys. I have house and truck on one and shop keys in my pocket on a seperate ring. Trailer keys are on the trailer key ring in the trailer key place etc..

I had keys to all kinds of sh!t on it. Live and learn. I can't even get into the back of my truck, the tonneau cover is locked and the keys where on that ring.

The part that sucks is not knowing where I saw them last. For all I know I left them laying in the front yard. Now I get to re-key every damned thing I have with a lock.

I am still sitting here waiting on the lock smith. If my company trys to make someone wait around this long, we get cussed out. Seems locksmiths and cable companies get away with it.

Did any of the people that came over have young children with them? Ask them to check ****** bags etc. Little kids love to pilfer stuff.
Sometimes I'll sit the keys someplace that I usually don't and that really messes me up. Or they'll get swept into a drawer. Just some ideas.

edit: why did it filter the word d i a p e r?

Maybe Doug doesn't like babies....:rll: . I know I don't... . Locksmith just left. Pretty cool guy. His company is called Atomic Locksmiths. Anyway.....He get's done re-keying all my locks and my daughter walks up and hands me my missing keys. Right in front of the guy too. Good news is, I don't have to get my F250 re-keyed. Bad part is that I just spent the whole damned day tearing my house apart and spent 115 bucks to finish it off. All because my mom saw my keys on the usual spot I leave them and decided to clean up for me. She tossed them in my daughters purse. This was a well spent day for me....:flaming: .

I have to laugh....I know I would if it happened to anyone else.

pretty good one.. no worse than when I locked myself out of my house and had to go to the next door neighbors at a very late hour to call the locksmith.
