So here is the deal two days ago i hear a weird noise in the blower and a rattle by my feet, well today i take the L to my buddys shop and i get to beach and basswood not far from my house and all of a sudden a crap load of white smoke just starts pouring out the tips and i have to give the truck gas just to keep it from killing itself.
So now i don't know what's wrong with it, and have no clue what to do, or how to pay for it. Let's just say between work and the **** load of problems that always seem to happen with my L LIFE SUCKS!!!

hows your coolant level, dose the oil look milky? White smoke is normaly coolant/water as in a blown head gasket. Sounds to me like the motor took a ****

I think the IC core is leaking into the intake. Did you check the IC fluid level and radiator levels? It probably sucked something up the intake or the blower chunked a piece and popped the intercooler core. Unplug the IC pump and it should stop smoking. Those head gaskets are going anywhere.

Any codes??? Pull the plugs and do the comp. test yourself and save 300.00 Your comp. should be pretty close to each other.

they told me it was a miss fire between 1#4, and that it could be my compression. But he said he was not sure. The guy wanted to take my motor apart not knowing what was wrong. I will check the plugs one at a time.:tu:

It is prolly just a coil pack, you can unplug them one by one to find it or I can look at it over the weekends. I have to earn a living during the week. Engine light or codes? Head gasket failures are very rare on stock trucks. coil packs and burnt plugs are very common.

You can borrow my compression checker if you want... It'll be a lot cheaper to check things out yourself. I think that Terry is probably right about it just being a coil pack or plug.

Screw that!!!!! There is no way in HE!! i'd let them take the motor apart espically when they say, "were not sure what it is, so lets take the motor apart" the fees they would charge would be outragious
