Still have some outstanding issues on mine from last time I was out there. Until Terry gets back and fixes some of them I'll refrain from beating the hell out of it :)

Good times fellas and gals:cool:

We had about 8-10 L's out there on a very crowded Sunday.

Managed to get in about 4 passes. Track was prepped well but the time was OFF on the inside lane:mad:

Congrats to Curtis on a new PB:tu:

Damn, was that on the winter race tune of mine:eek2: :D . What was the temp?

True Blue Aggie
01-16-2006, 11:37 PM
The 7.84 was on the Diablo tune at about 60 degrees temp.

Your warm tune ran a 7.95 and a 7.93 with same temps. Made the first pass with the Diablo, then switched to the XCAL for the rest of the day.

I can tell you that both passes felt equal throughout the run, and I attribute the loss of time at the top end from random launch situations at the Kennedale starting line. Temps were steady at 55-66 all day.

Also, your warm tune has a degree less timing than the Diablo tune, so we should have something to work with over the Spring. In either case, I'm excited to get the truck on the dyno and work out the tunes....:tu:

Yeah I didn't think a 16' tune would break 7's it should be consistent though as the timing is locked. Was that your 18 or 20' tune that ran 7's? Also I don't move the shifts all the way to 5400. I can do whatever you want above and beyond my my usual block friendly tunes. Those Diablo stats you posted are on the edge especially for mail order power.

I couldnt get better than a 1.8 60' and I wasn't spinning on my launches (except the one where I fishtailed) I guess I'll try some QA1's pretty soon and see what happends.

Shocks, pull the sway bar, and weight are the basics the rest is traction and technique. Rob launches them well. I saw him best Rocks time in his own truck! Oh yeah you got that Hotchkis suspension also, not made for drag racing.

Aggie has the same suspension as me. Only difference is my heavy aftermarket hood.

The tune I ran the .84 with was the 17degree tune. Plus I had made one or two additional moves with the tuner myself to get the tune where I wanted it.

That heavy aftermarket hood only weighs about 20lbs more than the stocker, and on a 4700lb truck, that's kinda like spittin' in the ocean.:d

Sounds to me like maybe the ole Shadow needs a little love. When's the last time you gave her a good tune up? What were your trap speeds?....or was she just not gettin' out the hole?
