Just curious if any of you guys are golfers and would be up for a game sometime. I usually just go to Meadowbrook or Lake Arlington because it's cheap and the holes are not too bad. Post up if interested and it's all for fun because I suck at it.

I'd head up there with you...I need to go to the range a few times and see if I still cut like mad to the right

Count me in, give me a couple days' notice, and I can join ya wherever.
If'n you don't mind driving a bit, and like a course with alot of challenge, THe Old Brickyard is a beautiful course, and damned hard. :D Another one, that's more centrally located, is the one just west of DFW Airport, it's nice, but I don't remember it's prices or if it's public.

Lets make it the 25th or 26th. Is this good for the ones that want to go? We are building a barn every weekend right now 2000 sq ft so I have to do that and can take a break on those days. If it's not then post up.

I dunno on the course. I have played Lake Arlington, Meadowbrook, and Iron Horse and they are all good to me since I am not. Which one sounds best?

I wouldn't mind hacking away at the ol' white ball for a while...problem is I'd probably spend most of my time in the trees and water. I haven't pulled the clubs out in years, and for good reason...I am very consistent...consistent at suckin at golf. :evil Finesse is not my thing:hammer:

I'm no better, I just enjoy the occasional decent shot, and the fresh air and scenery. :tu:
Iron Horse sounds great, pick a time on Saturday the 25th (???), not too early, and we'll do it. Everyone else on board?

I have played little golf in Texas, but courses I have played on typically won't let you on when you have more than 4 in a group. There are 5 of us who have responded.

I can probably bring another guy so we could have two groups of three and room for anyone else that decides to play at the last minute. Maybe a little best-ball game between the groups? Usually, courses will hold groups to foursomes on weekends.

There you go again Dennis. Bringing another ringer into a Talon get together. I guess the TFC wasn't enough for you. Now it's going to happen at the TI. You fellers may want to make them split up....;) .

I made tee times just now for 10:38 and 10:46 at Iron Horse on the 25th.
If you can not attend, please let me know. If we get down to just 4 (or less) I want to call and cancel one of the tee times.
Cost is $49.00 ea and includes the cart.
Kyle? Tom? Dennis? John? Ringer?
We still have room for two if anyone else wants to come.

You the man Brook! I was getting on to ask who was still going and find out about tee times but you beat me to it. I am definatley still in for a game. A golfing accident happened to me today while driving down Trinity Blvd. Well Texas Star goes across Trinity and while driving I was watching these two older men at the hill and as soon as I look away I hear a loud thud. I was curious as to what I had hit and then a damn golfball comes flying up and over the truck (doing about 55mph at this time). Some younger guys look up to see what was going on so I stopped and checked it out, thank God it was only a little scratch and blemish on the bumper. I need to buff the truck anyways but what are the odds of that kinda of crap happening. Just thought I would share since we were all about to go golf. -Kyle

Too many golf courses have parts of them close to where cars are. I hate it when my L even gets close to a golf course.

If I was coming from the direction you live, I might have brought the L, but the edge of the driving range is along the road I drive up on. I know how I hit 'em and it's not a stretch to imagine a golf ball heading toward the road.
I'm not chicken. I've seen what a golf ball can do to a car. Kinda looks like this. :hammer:

I'm looking for some advice here. I'm not knowledgable about how busy Texas golf courses are. It's supposed to be a little chilly tomorrow, but weekends are usually pretty busy.
We currently have 5 people saying they are coming and we are using up two tee times. I'd like to turn one of them back in in a couple of hours if there's only 5 of us, or at least drop one of them down to a twosome.
Any thoughts on this?

Brook - Just tell them we can give up one of our tee times if they will let us play with a fivesome. If not, I will play in a twosome, but the course will probably put a couple of other singles with the group.

I'm just up the road on Stagecoach in Crescent Oaks Beach and in Crossroads in Oakshores (under construction). I think I have ran yur truck with my old vette on 380 in the past. I'm assuming from the character your plates might read Go-rilla:twitch: Look forward to the golf in the A.M.

I called them about playing with 5. They said, unless the course was not busy, it probably wouldn't happen and looking at the book for tomorrow, it's unlikely. So I told them they could have two for the later tee time.
If we can't do 5, we can play with a 3 and 2 with a likelyhood of being joined by some other players.
Here's the link for the golf course.
