Just wanted to pass along some information I recieved today. The Nitto 555 Extremes and Goodyear Eagles tires for our Ls are on backorder, 295/45/18.
I got a set shipped down from a Discount Tire in MN, will be here next week. But while he was looking for mine he called 4-5 other stores/wholesellers and they said the backorder was approximately 4-6 weeks.
Just in case you have an inspection coming up soon.

That doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I just bought a pair of Nitto 295/45-18s for the front. Discount Tire had them in 2 days. ???
Obviously demand is way ahead of supply right now. :( That only means the price will go up. ^^^^^

I got a set of F1's paid for and waiting for me... If I recall correctly, the tires came in from several different places.
What I did... you can put a deposit down on the tire and pay them off over a period of time. The tires come in and are marked sold and they cannot resell them.
Mine have been paid for over a month and I put the deposit down in August. Two months ago I asked them to get them in since I will be needing them soon.
It works and it secures the price of the tire.
Now all I got to do is finish off the remaining tread and get em installed.
Oh yeah... I'll put a deposit on a new set by time summer arrives.

I just bought a brand new pair of Nitto 555Rs from a guy in Florida who sold his Lightning. He had 'em posted in the classifieds over on NLOC. Paid $370 plus shipping ($46). Retail runs about $275 apiece. :d
