Guys
Im sure you have heard lately that people are getting away from using Internet Explorer to browse the web to avoid spyware and other problems.

The current recommendation is to use Firefox

There is a link at the bottom of the forum that will take you to where you can dload firefox. The act of dloading from that link also helps boost the google ad revenue for the site in a small way.

look for this picture

Firefox has tabbed browsing and some other cool features
There will be some sites that may force you to use IE

Just started using Firefox and like the features however it forces me to log in everytime from my PM and Thread email links. I answer yes to "always remember me for this site".

I must have a setting fubared.

I use firefox most of the time and love it. There are a few bugs that don't work with Firefox, but overall it is great. And I LOVE the tab browsing.

So what you are saying is that if you get an email fromthe system and click the link to see a PM it forces you to login ?

Can you send me an example ?

I've been using Firefox for months and I really like it. There's an add-on you can get for it that can open up a site using an Internet Explorer Compatibility mode that supposedly works pretty good. A guy I work with uses it and he says it's great.

Personally, I've found very few websites that I can't use Firefox on. It's a great browser.

Ron sent me an example -

It HAS To be a cookie issue - I havent made any cookie related changes in a long time - you might try deleting all your TALON cookies and MAKE SURE You login to the site at the forum home page http://www.talonclub.com/forum/index.php and not the page here

Mine does this as well with Netscape.

Not a problem with IE or Firefox.

However, if I open new Netscape window and click my link to Talon it opens it right up with no cookie issues. It's only from the email links that I have a problem.

If you havea problem with Netscape but not firefox and others have it with Firefox it has to be some kind of setting in the browser...

Well, it works with all the other UBB forums that I use, NLOC, DFWStangs etc

I tried putting a dual boot system (RedHat) on this box while I was building it. I couldn't find video or audio drivers. I could live without audio but 640x480 just doesn't do it for me.

Since the new version of Firefox came out, I've had two occurrances on two different PCs where I try and type an ' on this board and it won't type. Instead, the cursor moves into the search button at the bottom like I hit <Ctrl> F.

Obviously it worked above, but earlier it didn't. Anyone else see this yet?

My browser (Firefox) was asking me every time to log in. Sometimes it populated just the user name other times no fields. I just saw the "remember me" check box on the login screen and checked it. I have not had any problems since then. It logs me each time.
