Aight I have read about wes's deal on the slicks and want to be getting some sometime soon. So what do yall think that it would run me to buy a set or what have yall paid to buy yours. I will be getting rims and slicks. Where also did you buy yours and what sizes are good to run? 28/29/30in? Thanks for the feedback.

I run 28" X 10.5 Hoosiers. I think that is what most guys are running, but I have run MT Streets before and they worked equally well.

Depends on your power level. Like Dennis said....28's are good for the majority of folks.

Approx $650 for 28 x 10.5 hoosiers on 16x 10 American Racing Baja wheels at Discount Tire. This is the setup most of us go with unless you have 3.55 gears then most go with 26's. If you are making more than 500rwhp then you might want to steup up to the 30's.

Yeah, I had the 26's from when the truck was just bolt ons, it's considerably more than that now. I haven't taken it to the track much so I never got new slicks. I don't really think about them until I'm at the track or heading there and then I'm kicking myself in the a$$ for not remembering to get new ones.

The ones I have are still hooking pretty darn good, I hit a 1.6 and several 1.7's on them on Sunday. They're just causing me to hit 4th at the end of the track.

Depending on your power level and future mods, 26's may be enough, if you plan on going up in power, 28's will likely suffice for the majority.

Go with the 28's. You have an 02 so you are running 3.73's.

I have some 26's that work fine. I have basically the same mods and ran an 8.1 but 28's would prob be better. I only paid $500 for everything.

David,

How much do you plan on racing this year? Couple times? 10 passes, 20 passes, 100 passes????

Prolly alot, Im playin baseball right now so i cant get out to the track much, but that is goin to be ending pretty soon. The mods im in the process of now is not horse power Im just tryin to make what i have go to the track, mainly tranny and traction things. Im plannin on a valve body and traction bars to go along with my slicks. Later on i will work on getting a tourque converter. But racing i will be doin prolly like 50-60 passes not really sure on the amout but i can say alot and lookin to possibly be racin for money.

Hmm..I guess Hallsville isn't considered a "Race track" as it's a felony to carry at tracks. There's a big sign going into Ennis about it.

Tracks are also listed in the "not allowed" to carry locations on the concealed test and all through the curriculum.

David, its hard but you can find it. This past weekend I won a $75 gift certificate to Jeg's (parts warehouse). Its not cash, but I can definitely use it.

If there is a money race that any of us have any hit of a chance to possibly win at, more than likely I know about it and will post it up in the forum...:tu:

I have about 50 on mine and they still have plently of tread left.

Ask Tom to measure the depth holes if you are concerned, but you will be good for 2 years IMHO.
