Yep, it's official: I'm an old fart! :p
It happened officially last night, 4/22/06, 5:27pm, Ryder Alan was born:

8lbs 10oz, 21"
The proud mom and pop:

She went into labor at 11am Friday, and delivered by c-section Saturday evening (yeah, 32.5 hours of freaking labor--she's gonna KILL him!!:eek2:). Ryder had his umbilical wrapped around his neck, which is why he wouldn't drop enough to dialate her, so they decided to go ahead and do the c-section. Ryder's doing great, mom is sore but well.
The proud granddad:

Yep, he's gonna be a fun one, he's already bein' a little brat:rll::

Congrats on the grandbaby! I bet you can't wait to babysit, load him up with sugar and send him home. That's how parents get back at their kids for 18-20 years of upbringing...

That's what they originally said, but Zane looks to be a healthy early baby.
Our OB/GYN says he can live outside even now at 34 weeks, but we want his lungs to fully develop to ~36 weeks.:)

Full term is 38-40 weeks. I hope you're not expecting arrival at 36 weeks...that's a little early, I don't care what your doctor sez...let him come when he's ready....

Ryder was 2 weeks early, so 38 weeks... human gestational period is actually 10 months, not 9.

Outside, like in a doghouse? Hmmm, maybe babies aren't as bad as I'd always beeen lead to believe. ;)

But, the deal is, Tom, Zane had dropped 2x and they put Elaine on medication to reverse pre-contractions (or something - hell, I'm trying to understand all this stuff). Besides, the Dr.s evidently build in a +/- estimation to all their findings, anyway.
According to the other Gen. II ultrasound team, they estimate we're at 33 weeks / 3 days and baby was 6 lbs, 13 ozs - we're at 34 wks. today.
I'm of the opinion, just let nature take it's course, as you say.:)
