Pretty nice little Rattler. 9+ feet and 97+ pounds caught up in the Alibates area of the Texas panhandle (between Amarillo & Borger).

Good-sized rattler! I think the current TX record for Western Diamondback is 7' 3"+ (87.5").
Here's what snopes has to say.

So Ronald, you're accusing my buddy here of being a liar. Snopes can't verify it as a hoax even though it is one of the poorer photoshops on the internet, but if Delbert here says he caught the snake and he swore on a case of Budweiser that he was telling the truth, then that's good enough for me. :(

Ironically enough, Dad and I picked up Zane's bassinet today and were walking out to the L and noticed a small gathering about a TX. Game Warden's F-250.:tu:
The Officer had a couple of confiscated rattlers.:)

I was sure you were going to say that Zane had already killed his first rattler and did it with a double tap to the head from his new Desert Eagle 44 ...:ron:

Nope, not me. However, we were out dirtbike riding by my friends house and we ran across 2 good sized Mojave Greens. I have never actually seen them in my area eventhough they are really common. If baby Zane killed his first snake already i would be really proud of him. I hate spiders and snakes. Shoot 'em all.
