Bob,
Did you get it set up right? I think from looking at the plate that Mike was right. That should sit on top of the leaf spring...

if you look closely at the pic he posted you can see 4 small dents where the u bolts were previously installed.
Thanks guys. I got it. Problem now is that the U bolts are about 1/2" too short for the stock springs. I am going to check at Plano 4x4 to see if I can get longer ones, also will call LFP to see about standard U bolts. If anyone is about to install a new set on a lowered L, let me know. Evidently you have to cut the bolts when going on a lowered L.

Terry, you will have to chime in on this one, but Bob I dont think that he cut the u-bolts at all. Maybe its the difference in the 01-02 springs compared to your 03-04 springs?
I do know that we mounted the bars before we mounted the Hotchkis TVS system on the truck....so I know that the bars fit on the stock setup.

The Hotchkis lowering springs are only 2 leafs, stock is 5 leafs. Only the fronts should be cut so you should only need two. You should be able to get them from LFP easily.
All four are the same length. Inspection shows that they were cut with hack saw type devise. I ordered four new ones from LFP. $6 each, which is reasonable price.:)
