Kinda funny - I was going to report the IP BUT when I realised it was from China - I decided that it may cause more trouble than its worth ..

They must have tried guessing the administrator password a couple hundred tiimes

Funny thing is there is no admin account on that FTP server

Guessing Tom or me in a hotel room gave them the link, they monitor everything you do, and go through your room and luggage often.

I appreciate the willingness to fall on the sword. But this is a server seperate from talon. They likely just scanned a range of ips looking for ports to respond

The FTP server is used to backup the sql databases every night. Its not your typical FTP server and isnt vulnerable to your typical attacks - Next thing I need to do is change the port it listens on - but that involves fixing a dozen or so scripts that all are working correctly .. Doug

They try to hack my FTP all the time too. It amuses me because there is no administrator account here either...

after closer looks at the logs Ive found attempts form France and other places

Now Im blocking Ip ranges - soon the entire internet will be blocked

one subnet at a time

I have people trying to bulk login to my FTP as well, but as everyone should, there is no Administrator account on my server. Most of the time I block the IP address on my FTP program and at my router, just to make sure no one gets in.
