I'm working in Houston for now and commuting in the L - West-Side Galleria area. Cruising I-45 is a blast! :burnout:
I've ran into several Ls down there, maybe Rob's next.

Dana,
I'm off of the 610 Loop and San Felipe. Advice on hotels would be good, too.
Houston is one hot/sweaty monster of a city! I thought Miami was bad.
Thanks and PM sent.

Hotel advice: Don't stay in the Galleria area if you're looking for an economical rate. Might do well to try a La Quinta, Holiday Inn or Ramada Inn on 290 or I-10 and commute into the Galleria area.
Bear in mind that many of our lower priced motels are still full of Katrina evacuees, so finding a vacant room might be difficult.

I've lived here all my life. You get used to the heat and humidity after a few decades. Beats shoveling snow, anyway. :D

Ken, I grew up in Houston and lived there for 35 years.. loved it.. really.. you are right in that you get used to it.. but it is kind of like living in a terrarium.. on the other hand I would have to disagree with you on the other part, I dont mind shoveling snow here, cause I get 70 degree summers...
Dana
Ken, where did you go to High School in Houston? I went to South Houston and graduated from Clear Lake.

He was back in the day... It was a good experience for me.. learned a lot.. got a good education at a cheap price back then.. I always tell folks what I paid for college, and they just drop their jaws.. esp compared to todays prices.
