Okay, so not what some of you expected.
The rabbits have been breading wildly this year in downtown Richardson, they are everywhere, they live under my shed, almost pets at this point.

Mowed the yard late last night and a saw a fox, do we have those native to Dallas?
Coyote?
No it wasn't a dog.

if it was a fox you could tell by the way it ran, its more slick and stream lined when it runs, and coyotes are ugly looking muts

and if it was a fox it wouldnt be all that out of the ordinary, they go where the small animals are and if you have a surplus of rabbits then i could see them being around, but foxes are very sneaky you wont usually see them all that often, only seen maybe a dozen my whole life and it wasnt for very long at that, they like to stay on the move and out of sight

Yeah, the fox walk type, on the move, saw it in the field across from the front yard.

Thanks for the discussion, bored waiting for Mavs.
And the raccoons are gone this year, usually come up from the sewers when it gets dry.

I've got a batch living in my crawspace, they dug under the stem wall and have a front and rear acces. :( I need to get them trapped.

Willing to bet it was a yeotee. We had plenty on the ranch growing up. I have seen 5-6 in Richardson over the past 4 years I have lived here.

We had a grey fox come up to our back porch in Dallas.. did also see a coyote in the back yard a couple of times too.. but we lived on a creek (natures highway) and we fed the feral cats on the back porch.. most wild things liked the cat food..

in cedar hill i've seen foxes and bob-cats too. i live in the thorntee countryclub grounds in desoto and the other night i saw a hugh coyote trotting down the steet in front of my house. i guess gated communities just aren't what they used to be. :D

When we moved into the Frisco house, we got a warning from the city about coyotes and hawks: the 'yotes would jump fences and attack pets; the hawks would swoop down and carry away small dogs and cats. :eek2:

Before the development started across the road from us, there were coyotes and bobcats in the woods near the creeks. No idea about racoon or foxes, never say them. Oh, there were hawks, owls, and vultures as well. Most of them have been chased of by the construction, tho. :(

If it looked like a cross between a cat and a coyote/small-dog, it was most likely a fox. Was it silver or red looking?

I found a chewed up rabbit this past weekend in the backyard, so maybe they're on a the prowl in the neighborhood.

We've seen coyotes at Legacy/Preston in Plano.

I like the rabbits they keep the back yard mowed, they only eat the tops and leave it at about 3 inches.
I'd take a picture of the rabbits eating now, but everyone has seen rabbits.
