I think something fell off the L, someone help!

Ok so i was pulling out of my neighborhood and I hear a clinking noise and I look back and see something in the road. I stop and go pick it up and it kinda looked like something that could go on the suspension, but I wasnt sure so I took it with me and took a picture and figured you guys coudl help me out on fiding ouyt what it is. For refrence, it's about 5" long, 2 in high, and has a hole in the middle that looks like it has circular grooves around it like it was on a wheel or some. Here's the picture I took.
