Hey guys i know this is :0fftopic but i'm about to buy a bike tonight and just wondering what is alot of miles for a bike. it has 23k on it is that alot?

well i'll just give you a run down
2000 Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R
23K miles
chrome frame and swing arm
All new plastics with candy red custom paint
all for $3500 do you think its worth it?

No.

Retail Blue Book: $2,600 - 3,400

That's for a "normal" used ZX-6R

This one's probably been crashed, probably while being abused doing stunts.
The mileage total isn't bad but those are some hard miles.
And they're asking over retail.

Always research:

Well i did a KBB (kelly blue book) value of it and it says its worth 4580. So i thought it was a good deal but this is my first bike so i'm not looking for a everyday driver just something to learn on and maybe scratch up a few times. before i buy a expensive one.

EDIT: the nada one i just did said it was worth 3750 so i think 3500 is good.

Thanks for your input guys.

3500 for a 7 year old bike is pretty much top dollar

Very nice looking bike, but I haft to agree it looks like it's been down before. Why else would it have new plastics, aftermarket swing arm, new paint, ect. One thing I would recommend if you do get it, buy yourself a set fo frame sliders for it. If the bike goes down thoes will help to save the new plastic and new paint from being screwed up. Also if you haven't taken it I very strongly recommend a motorcycle safety class.

Agree, it has been down, 23K miles, 4K/year, not too bad.
600s are good as a first bike, but you will want larger in about 2 years IMHO.

or less... you will be surprised how soon you are rapping that thing out on a regular basis.. I sold my old ZX11 with 7k miles on it last year.. it could still beat most of the stuff on the street and ran like a turbine.. smooth and very fast.. unless 170 mph on the top end is too slow for you.. plus 0-60 in 2.8 seconds.

yes there is faster today, but you can get a ZX11C or D for cheap..
