I don't think life is meant to have sweet memories of how many days I worked at the shop. I have an opportunity to take a trip and make some great memories with friends. I am going to 'seek that one thing' for a few days. Leaving Friday and back next Friday if all goes well. I will probably leave my computer at home. Jimmy will be at the shop and can handle most emergencies if you should have any. Thanks for keeping me busy guys and gals:tu: .

Terry,
I dont think anyone would blame you for taking days off to do something cool. Is there a number to the shop that I can call to check on the status of the truck while your gone? All I have is your cell.

Terry,
Im new to Talon Club and everyone has been talking about your work on here. Also Mike and all the guys from last sunday at Hooters/Kennedale recommended your work. I have a few things that I want done. If you could tell me how to get a hold of you, and I will contact you sometime when you get back. Thanks man, and have a good time.

Number and Email are all over the site here. 214 923 0045.
Matt, I pulled your engine and you need a new block sir. We will order the pistons this week so let me know where a new block is coming from and we'll start putting it together.

Yeah in the 70's-40's I believe. Gonna hang out by a lake at 9,400ft elev.

It's hard to beat the high-country of NM and CO.:) We've camped at Bear Lk. near Trinidad, CO and hiked westward past 10K ft.

Nothing but lichen on all the rocks and even high-elev. pine stop growing at ~10K ft.

Nothing beats the scenery at 12,9xx at Independence Pass, CO.

Have fun.

Simply amazing is all I can say about my Colorado trip. 4 days of hard long riding totaling over 2000 miles driven and 300 miles ridden across some of the most beautiful yet harsh terrain I could imagine. Surviving in the higher elevations takes some planning. Even during July base camp temps ranged from 41deg to 85 deg. Getting rained on at the top of a 12K plus foot pass was a very chilling experience. My fuel injected 675cc engine would barely pull itself along at the highest altitudes. Guys with carbureted machines were forced to re-jet and remove airbox lids to run at the top of the mountains. They would spit and sputter all over the place. Even walking 50-100yds at the top was a nocticable effort. Here are a few of the 383 pics I took of my trip. I will be back to work Friday guys..

The trails were very dusty so we got filthy every day. Of course precious drinking water could not be wasted for washing up so we used the abundant streams and rivers surrounding our camp to clean up. We referred to them as mountain man baths. The water was a balmy 50 deg day and night. One interesting thing was after you got out of the river the 62 deg surface temp felt quite warm..

Here is a pic of TALON's own 99Bolt climbing up the Taylor Pass trail. There was a 100yd section of this trail that is flowed over like a river with fairly deep spots and large boulder type rocks. I had to use 4wd to get up this section. I used 2wd 97% of the trip but there were a handful of must go 4wd spots.

reminds me of our days in Wyoming... imagine driving up into the mountains above Lander, Wyoming, in a '79 Supra, to hike to the head of the Popo Agie river...

Those areas are pristine and gorgeous, and a great vacation. Well done. :tu:
