Does anyone know how to check which coil or plug is out? I have one or more on my truck that is out. I have some spare coils but I have no way of knowing which one is out. I do not want to pay a dealership $90.00 for them to hook it up to their machine. It is not setting off the check engine light so I can't have Autozone or someone like that do it for me.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Might want to consider getting one of these.......

It tests both coil packs and spark plugs. Simple to use and extremely accurate. Here's a popular place to get them.....

Just disconnect one at a time, the one that doesn't make a change is the one.

Good luck, Brian.
Pulling the coil pack connectors one at a time will definitely help to identify the misfiring cylinder. However, this method will not tell you if it's the COP or the plug itself. Also check to make sure the pins inside the COP connector are not bent (I've seen this before!).
Doug,
Thanks for fixing my typo. :tu:

Once you verify which cylinder is having the issue, it's fairly easy to check the plug. Just pull it and change it out. If you still have issues, replace the coil pack.
