Like the title says, when the radio is on there is a slight, but noticable hum, thought it was the noise blockers under the hood, but when I pulled my blower, the wires were still connected and looked to be intact. Read the manual and found the noise blocker fuse, changed it, still a hum.

any thoughts??

I believe there is a fan motor in or near the stereo receiver.I have heard mine before. It doesnt run all the time though.Maybe Terry knows where.Sounds like could be your problem.

Turn the radio off and the hum will go away.

Is it a oem or aftermarket radio. If after market I had similar problem. does the hum rise and lower with accelaration if so it could be alternator noise and I had to have a 20 amp in line filter put in between the radio and the power supply (IE:fuse box) and it went away. Just a thought.......mp:tu:

You can hear your radio ?????????? With my Bassani mids and cat-back, the radio is an 'engine off' option only.

Can be loud in some cases

Yeah, what ^he^ said, the early radios without the in-dash CD changers (02 and below?) do'nt ahve that fan. When I put in that '03 unit, I could hear the fan if the volume was turned down.

Its an aftermarket pioneer touch screen, I had it installed before I put the ported blower on my truck, it gets louder when the motor revs

Yup I could hear it when I was running open headers (no cats or mufflers), and now that I put gutted cats and new mufflers on

need a noise filter.... and should fix it.. or try moving the little filters that bolt to the intake..

Sounds like you eitehr inadvertently disconnected the noise filters, they failed, or you didn't install 'em in the first place. Which is it?

Or its just a simple placement of a ground.. Some aftermarket headunits pick up ignition noise no matter what you do. So you need to get filters
