Texas Fastest Streetcar Shakedown 08/19/06

I got a flyer in the mail today from Ennis they are having a fastest streetcar shootout on August 19 (Saturday) Gates open at 4pm Streetcar Shakedown is at 10:30pm.

$3000 to the fastest streetcar
$1000 to 2nd place

They also have a Streetcar Index Class
closest to the index without going under $200 to winner $100 to runner up

I didn't go. I'm going to try and make it this time. Don't know if it's worth it or not. We'll see.

Saw a Sonic Blue with a Talon sticker on it running 13.9s and then I saw a red w/black hood and black bolt on the side running 11.5's. Fastest street car was a 69 Camaro that ran 6.99 at 190mph. Had parachutes and wheelie bars, didn't look street legal to me.

That was James G in the flamboyant L. He had to run to Autozone to get a new blower belt. He finished the night on a 6 rib belt. I figured a 8-9sec car would win if they were "enforcing" street car. Jimmy told me it would be in the 6-7's when there is money to be won. He said the pro mod guys or whomever swap their engines into their street class cars for those weekends. SOB's:D
