Are WRXs supposed to be fast???

I spanked one Friday night on 635. He saw me get on at Central and nailed it when he got next to me. I spanked him up to about 80 then slowed to 50. After letting him take off first, I stayed in it to about 130 (indicated) and had about 8 or so car lengths on him. He thought it was cool to get spanked that hard (thumbs up, BIG grin) and stayed behind me until I exited at 161. My wife said 'are those things supposed to be fast, or something?'. I said I thought they were quicker than that, and that guy must have thought so, but appearantly not.
Oh, well. Another bowl of fried rice, please!!!:hammer:

Quick in the twisties but no contest in a straight line. Of course, like with any other car and some $$$, they can go pretty fast in a straight line as well.

Their main advantages are off the line....AWD.

They can be made fast...gotta switch out the turbo though....not sure where it's located on those....but for the most part the mildly modded ones run mid/high 13's

That must have been an 1/8th mile. I have not been beat by one yet, except for autoX racing. Cobb makes some cool rides and like most turbo cars mods make a big difference:) Here is a pic of a WRX I spanked out off the line and down the track by over a second last year. Chip and filter were my only mods:tu:

Yeah, it was at Denton. And he also had some turbo work done, so he wasn't really stock. He also trailered it out there, but I don't know why (it didn't perform like a trailer car). Unless he was on race gas and he wanted to conserve it.
