...anyone have any experience with 'em? Yamaha motor with 125k miles for under $2k.
Of course this would mean I'd have to give up my old LS400 as my daily driver.

There was a guy in my old hood that works on them like I do on the lIghtnings. His name is SHO Tony. He has a Vertech charged SHO and it make 430hp or so and runs 12's when it hooks up. It runs off from a lot of quick cars. I manage to beat him in a C6 and my Lightning and Corvettes though:D . Rob tangled with him a time or two;) . I think he has a shop in Arlington or GP.

Back in the day.... I heard that the redline on the computer was there to protect the alternator, a/c, etc... that the engine redline was still a ways up there.. it would make a good sleeper though..

Yup, my dad drove one into the ground. Everything but the engine breaks. A/C, clutch, cooling system, brakes... etc
Oh yeah, you'll be replacing crankshaft oil seal, and every other oil seal eventually, which prob means the day after purchase.
Great engine, high maintenance lady though...
