Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter, was killed today, tomorrow in Australia, filming a documentary. He was killed by a Stingray. I didn't know those things were so dangerous. He was a little fruity but he was the right kind of environmentalist....not a bleeding heart tree hugger. It's sad.

That sucks but at least he went out doing what he loved to do.

Yeah, the stingray barb pierced his heart, according to the stories.

He was quite an entertaining guy though. RIP.

Pretty entertaining guy, but a little off his rocker IMO. Evidently should have stayed with crocs.

Apparently it was a freak accident, the barb of the stingray, which was close to a foot long, penetrated his heart, his friend and head guy at Sea World said he probably died instantly.

Shocking and sad.

He's one of the guys we think is invincible but proven wrong.

In my honest opinion, that's the best way for any of us to depart this Earth - doing what you love to do and, ideally, with your family by your side.

Agree..and as his photographer said "Steve would never die on land, he was too quick".

It's very sad.
But you only live once and he lived it to the fullest.:tu:

Words To Live By

>Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving >safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in >broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming >"WOW-What a Ride!”

I always liked this. I think Steve Irwin lived it. :bows

I'm going to guess and say he died when he pulled it out. Serrated (sp) edge cut a bigger hole in his heart on the way out and thats when he bled to death. You will die pretty quick with a hole in your heart. Probably should have left it in. Just my .2

Godspeed to the Croc hunter and condolences to those he left behind.

He will undoubtedly be missed by many.
